Smalltown Boy dance with the scream: what is it?

Updated:

Short answer

A two-character comedy dance, mostly made as AI cat clips. One character clamps both hands to the head and yells into a close wide-angle lens, the other grooves in the back. A hard cut trades them, and in the last seconds both dance together. Make your own from two portraits on Ozil Goal AI.

How it began

It happened in two steps. In August 2026 a duet between real people laid down the beats. An AI cat take posted to Instagram in early October 2026 is the one people then copied. No accounts are named here.

We leave out view counts, since they differ by platform and we could not check them. The explainer on the main page lists sources.

What every version shares

  • One dancer takes the lower right of the frame, close to the lens, hands on head, yelling. The other grooves behind.
  • A straight cut flips the two, so the other one yells.
  • Both step back into a wide shot and dance shoulder to shoulder.
  • Wide-angle selfie look, red wall or fence behind.
  • The clip closes on that shoulder-to-shoulder dance.

Live action or AI?

Both exist. Some people film real duets with a friend. Others use AI tools to run cats, dogs or characters through the same beats. The AI cat clips are not recordings of real cats.

Ours is AI-made as well: new video generated from your two portraits, no original footage.

Questions people ask

When did the Smalltown Boy dance first appear?

August 2026, as a real-people duet. The AI cat take that made it a trend arrived in early October 2026.

Is that real footage of cats dancing?

No. Those AI cat clips are generated video, and no real cats were filmed.

Is there an official Smalltown Boy AI app?

No official app exists. This is a trend, and many creators and sites build their own take. Ozil Goal AI is just one of them, and an independent one.

Does this site actually play the original song?

It isn't. Ozil Goal AI generates a backing sound of its own. For adding the trending sound yourself, see the sound guide.
